“We have had the pleasure of working with Leisa Sams from Hum Honey on several occasions. The Live Hive presentation is just amazing and a wonderful learning experience for the children. We have had the live hive at our service 3 times now in celebration of honey month. Having this set up over a period of days at the service meant the children were able to observe first hand how the hive works and just how busy the bees are in such a short period of time. Leisa’s presentation is light hearted, warm and delivered in a child friendly manner but full of information as she shares her extensive knowledge and passion for bees. Leisa also brings along props the children can touch and extends the presentation with a craft experience. The children at the service enjoyed making handmade bee’s wax candles and food wraps which they were able to take home. This is a wonderful incursion with a difference which children of all ages would appreciate and enjoy. We look forward to working with Leisa in the future and supporting the bee industry they are after all the world’s most important pollinator of food crops!”
